RIPN launches the 2023 professional development series sponsored by Clarity Imaging

Dr Virgil Chan, Musculoskeletal Radiologist and Director of Clarity Imaging, is committed to the mission of the Musculoskeletal Research in Practice Network (RIPN), which focuses on translating research into practice and assisting local clinicians in addressing regional challenges to enhance care delivery.

To encourage clinician engagement with research, RIPN recognises the need to incentivise members to participate more actively in network activities. Through surveys, members expressed a strong interest in face-to-face networking and social events. They also sought peer support, mentoring beyond their own practices, and opportunities to share clinical knowledge and expertise within their local community. In response, RIPN has developed a program for the upcoming year featuring two different formats of professional development.

The case presentation evenings, hosted in various private practice settings across the region, offer local clinicians the chance to present challenging cases and seek assistance from their peers. These sessions not only address clinical reasoning and management dilemmas but also contribute to expanding collective expertise by sharing rare cases.

In addition, RIPN has introduced a separate format where local experts from different disciplines co-present on topics presenting complex management challenges. These sessions include panel discussions where audience members can engage in Q&A sessions to explore local implementation strategies and overcome management obstacles.

All RIPN events are free for members, made possible through the generous support of sponsor Clarity Imaging and the dedication of volunteer presenters who invest their time in preparing for these events.
